COVID-19 Travel FAQ

Where can I find the latest information regarding travel restrictions?

Please reference the CDC’s travel page for updates on travel restrictions and recommendations, as well as updates from local health departments. When traveling with Cluventure, you will receive a resource guide with important health and safety information about your destination.

How is Cluventure handling COVID-19 restrictions?

Due to ever-changing travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cluventure will be as flexible as possible when it comes to choosing and/or postponing travel dates. We encourage those who would like to purchase a trip to select “I do not know my desired departure date” during the checkout process. Please keep in mind that our booking policy requires at least 90 days notice for any Cluventure experience. 

Additionally, all travelers will be required to follow local regulations regarding COVID-19, including but not limited to wearing a mask while traveling and exploring public places.

Can I still book an international Cluventure?
As many countries are refusing or discouraging foreign visitors, we are recommending travelers who prefer international travel to select “I do not know my desired departure date” during the checkout process. Purchase now and Cluventure will hold your reservation until borders open back up and it is safe to travel internationally.
How has travel insurance changed during COVID-19?

We strongly encourage all travelers to purchase travel insurance as soon as their destination is revealed. Cluventure partners with World Nomads Travel Insurance – more information about their COVID-19 policies can be found here.

What health and safety protocols should travelers follow?

As this is a rapidly changing global event, we are directing travelers to follow local and regional guidelines. While on their Cluventure, travelers are required to follow local regulations regarding COVID-19, including but not limited to wearing a mask while traveling and exploring public places.

Where will I travel?

A key element of the Cluventure experience is that your destination is a surprise! You have the option to choose between a domestic or an international Cluventure. During the consultation with your Adventure Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tell us more about the environment you’re looking for, where your group has already traveled, and what type of experience you are seeking.

No matter what, safety is our first priority when determining your destination.

Can I choose my own destination?

The Cluventure experience is all about embracing the spirit of adventure and trying new things. Therefore, we are dedicated to keeping your destination a surprise. After all, it wouldn’t be much fun to crack the code if you already knew where you were going!

How will Cluventure help to ensure my safety?

Safety is our number one priority. Our team does all that we can to ensure that all travelers remain safe on their Cluventures. This includes consulting government websites and trusted on-the-ground agents, adequately researching all accommodations and activities, staying up to date with current conditions at your destination, sending each traveler with a resource guide which includes pertinent safety and medical information, and providing a direct support line that will be available at all times throughout the entirety of your Cluventure. International travelers are also enrolled in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). In addition, once your destination has been revealed, travelers are able to purchase travel insurance directly through our website.

Will Cluventure plan me a vacation centered around a particular activity?

Absolutely! Whether you want a ski trip, a beach trip, or anything in between, Cluventure is for you! However, as we are dedicated to mystery and adventure, we will not plan Cluventures to specifically requested locations.

Can I travel with someone departing from a different city?

Yes, in fact it happens all the time! We will confirm your travel details during your pre-Cluventure consultation.

Can I book an accessible Cluventure?

Yes! We make efforts to stay educated on how to make each Cluventure as successful as possible for every traveler. Cluventure does not and shall not discriminate in any of its activities or operations. Anybody can Cluventure! We will ask more about any accessibility requirements during your pre-departure consultation. If you have any questions prior to booking, please contact a team member today.

What is the difference between a classic and a luxury Cluventure?

All of our Cluventures will provide an enjoyable and personalized travel experience. If you would prefer to upgrade your trip, our luxury option is perfect for you. Luxury Cluventures include an extra layer of comfort such as upgraded flights, accommodations, and additional activities when available. We will ask you more about your preferences during your consultation.

Can I purchase a Cluventure as a gift?

Yes! In fact, nearly 40% of all Cluventures are purchased as a gift! To purchase a gift for someone else, complete checkout as normal and simply mark the box that says “I am purchasing this Cluventure as a gift.” You will not need to complete traveler information at the time of checkout. What happens after I purchase a Cluventure as a gift?

Once the gift has been received by the recipient, they will contact us to begin their unique Cluventure experience. Physical and/or digital gift certificates are available upon request.

What is Cluventure's refund policy?

We understand that life happens. Due to the the unique nature of our travel experiences, in the event of a cancellation, Cluventure Travel is able to refund a maximum of 50% of the original amount paid. If a booking is canceled less than 14 days prior to departure, Cluventure Travel will retain the full amount.

How do I get started?

Getting started is easy! Simply decide which Cluventure package best suits your group. Browse our options here.

How far in advance should I book my Cluventure?

In order to provide you with the best possible Cluventure experience, we prefer a minimum of 3 months between the time of booking and your desired departure date. If you’re interested in traveling sooner, please contact us.

Can I book my Cluventure before I know my travel dates?

Yes! Whether you’re waiting to surprise your travel partner or your group simply hasn’t decided when you want to leave, you can still get your Cluventure experience started. If you do not know when you would like to travel, please checkout as normal and simply select the box marked “I do not know my desired departure date.” As always, our team will reach out after your booking is complete to discuss the next steps of your experience.

How do I pay for my Cluventure?

You are able to make a secure payment for your chosen Cluventure directly through our website. Most major debit and credit cards are accepted and all payment processing fees are included in your price. A receipt will be emailed to you immediately after purchase.

My friends and I want to pay separately, can we still travel together?

Yes! All Cluventure vacation packages are priced per person. You can buy together or checkout separately, either way the price will remain the same. You can add additional traveler names to your information form and we will confirm traveler details during your consultation.

What is the Cluventure Cause of the Year ?

What is a Cluventure Consultation?

Shortly upon completing your traveler information form, you will receive an email from your Adventure Specialist to schedule your Cluventure Consultation. During this video or phone consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet your Adventure Specialist and tell us more about the experience you are seeking. We will ask questions to get to know you and your travel preferences.

Your Cluventure Experience

How do the clues work?

Travelers may choose easy, intermediate, advanced, or challenge level clues. You will receive both pre-departure clues that hint at your destination and on-the-ground clues that lead you to specific pre-planned activities. Each Cluventure is 100% unique and all clues are handcrafted for your specific journey. Keep your imagination open as your clues can arrive in many forms!

When will I receive my clues?

After your consultation, we will send you a list of important upcoming dates, including when each of your pre-departure clues will be mailed. Once each of these clues have been shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number and expected delivery date.

For on-the-ground clues, we like to mix it up! These clues are usually included in your on-the-ground packet but could also pop up elsewhere along your journey.

How will I know what to pack?

You will receive a suggested packing list for your destination and activities approximately one week before departure. To help you pack, a more specific weather forecast will be sent 4-5 days prior to the start of your Cluventure.

What type of resources will I get?

Cluventure is dedicated to creating the most stress-free experience possible. You will be provided with a variety of resources customized for your Cluventure.

Prior to departing, you will receive an email with all of the resources you will need to prepare for your Cluventure. Your pre-departure resources include packing lists, airline baggage regulations, weather reports, resource guides, and more! You will also be sent a physical on-the-ground packet and additional digital resources to guide you through your experience. These resources include your Cluventure Calendar, on-the-ground clues, and a destination specific guide handcrafted for your journey.

When will my destination be revealed?

Your destination will be revealed in your on-the-ground packet, which will be mailed approximately two weeks before your departure day. Whether you open it right away or wait until you get to the airport – the choice is yours. What will you decide?

How do I check-in for my flight?

No need to check in for your departing flight. Your Adventure Specialist will take care of that for you, in addition to emailing you all necessary flight information. You will also receive instructions on how to access your boarding pass. You will be responsible for checking-in for your returning flight. Your detailed flight information for all scheduled flights (airline, flight number, departure times, etc.) is also included in your Cluventure Calendar.

How will I make it to my surprise activities?

Your clues will be your guide! In addition, all the information needed to make it to your activities is provided in a specially marked envelope inside your on-the-ground packet.

What If I have questions while I am traveling?

You will have an adventure specialist accessible by phone, email, or text throughout your Cluventure experience. We encourage all of our travelers to communicate any needs or questions they may have.

Can I change my travel dates?

For the optimal experience, we encourage travelers to stick with their original travel dates. We understand that plans can change, so we encourage reaching out to your adventure specialist as soon as possible if dates need to be altered. We will be as flexible as possible with date change requests. However, there may be an additional fee involved.

Can I purchase travel insurance through Cluventure?

Yes! Cluventure has a partnership with World Nomads travel insurance. Once you crack the code and discover your vacation destination, purchasing travel insurance is quick and easy – simply fill out the box on our home page or contact us today!

When should I purchase travel insurance?

As soon as your destination has been revealed, you can purchase travel insurance – at home, in the car, or on the plane! We recommend purchasing travel insurance for any vacation, even if you’re not traveling with Cluventure.
